I like to blow my own horn. I admit, I sometimes interrupt others when they are trying to speak. I am not a "tongue biter". I put my foot in my mouth fairly often. Is there a 12 step program for someone like me?
When I went to college the basketball players were the stars. Not the students. Now that I think about it, the quiet, fairly shy guy is the only one from my class that went to medical school. He was a gentle giant. Actually played football, but did not hang out at the "jock pub". Go figure, I'm sure that there is a lesson to be learned.
I am willing to accept that frantic thinking takes an enormous amount of energy and drains the creativity and motivation from our lives. When faced with a large obstacle, that can not be moved by strength alone, I know I must plan, strategize. If I don't, I'll be like Sisyphus. Sisyphus was a king punished by being cursed to roll a huge boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and to repeat this throughout eternity.
I want a lot, and time is starting to work against me. Like the characters in the movie the "Bucket List" I have a wish list, that keeps getting smaller. It is smaller not just as a result of accomplishments. It is smaller also as a result of the reality of advancing years and the limitations of time. In the movie two terminally ill men (Nicholson and Freeman) are on their road trip with a wish list of things to do before they "kick the bucket.
Troy Polamalu is supposedly a quiet reserved individual who puts out all his effort Sunday on the football field. Maybe if I take a few breaths, and relax more I will be able to concentrate and focus my energies. I have been working out each day. Hopefully I will see results both in my physical health and mental and creative efforts.

Waldo County, situated in mid-coast Maine along scenic Penobscot Bay, has genuine New England character evidenced by working port towns and quaint rural villages. Visitors are awed by the area's unspoiled beauty. From striking coastal views to sweeping mountain vistas, dramatic natural settings abound. In addition great care has been taken to preserve and refurbish numerous historic landmarks, homes and buildings. Consequently, the Maine of yesteryear is still found here.

If you own a blog, or if you read them, I recommend signing up with Technorati (it's free and takes a couple minutes). And if you enjoy this blog, I encourage you, please, to "favorite" it.
