Pain may be sharp or dull. It may come and go.
Since a bad accident on my bicycle, I have been experiencing frequent pain. I had a bad fall on slick, wet roads. No broken bones, but my lower back took most of the force of the fall.
Pain is a feeling triggered in the nervous system. Pain may be sharp or dull. It may come and go, or it may be constant. You may feel pain in one area of your body, such as your back, abdomen or chest or you may feel pain all over, such as when your muscles ache from the flu.
Over the last few weeks the pain has been centered in my lower back. I can ride my bike no more than two to three miles. I can work at my desk in fifteen to thirty minute shifts. Having recently turned sixty, I hope this is not the first curse of old age.
In my research I have learned that pain is the most prominent member of a class of sensations known as bodily sensations. The class includes itches, tickles, tingles, orgasms, and so on. Bodily sensations are typically attributed to bodily locations and appear to have features such as volume, intensity, duration, and so on, that are ordinarily attributed to physical objects or quantities. Pain can be helpful. Without pain, you might seriously hurt yourself without knowing it, or you might not realize you have a medical problem that needs treatment. Once you take care of the problem, pain usually goes away. However, sometimes pain goes on for weeks, months or even years. This is called chronic pain.

The Fantastic Fouris a fictional superhero team appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The group debuted in The Fantastic Four #1 (Nov. 1961), which helped to usher in a new naturalism in the medium. It was the first superhero team created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist and co-plotter Jack Kirby, and a cornerstone of Marvel Comics' 1960s rise from a small division of a publishing company to a pop-culture conglomerate.
Reed Richards, a brilliant scientist, took his crew on an unregistered space ship launch to become the first to do interstellar travel. An accident occurred, and the crew was bathed in cosmic rays and was forced to return to earth. When they got back to earth, the realized that through the cosmic rays, they were changed on the most basic molecular level. They each had super powers, some with great abilities and little change to their physical appearance, but in the case of The Thing, the side effects were very noticeable and monstrous.
The four had a choice, to hide their powers and shy away from society, or to embrace their newfound abilities and use them to help the very people that might consider them freaks. Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben all decided to face their fears and as The Fantastic Four, they have become more powerful than they would be as individuals and their bonds have made them a family of sorts, ready to take on any challenge. Now, they are adventurers of a new kind, and have traveled to places and domains humanity has never thought even existed.
